I am closing on my first hom...Thanks for this post! I am closing on my first home with my husband this week, and in my area, houses are very expensive! We started looking in a lower price range a year ago and finally just decided to pay more to get a nicer, move-in-condition home. We must have looked at 100 houses! I know ours is a nice house, but I feel anxiety and a bit of sadness about paying more than we wanted to. I agree with all your comments (wish we had closing costs paid but we do get tax credit!). Your post has made me feel better about what we are paying.
